Who Can Help Me With Homework: 5 Useful Suggestions

Students can find themselves struggling with homework at any stage of their education, whether they are in elementary school or college. So it can be helpful to know where to go for help on homework. If you are struggling, the first thing to figure out is what exactly you are struggling with. The options for this will be different in different subjects. For instance, on math assignments, many students have a hard time figuring out exactly what they are supposed to be solving for. Where as in English they may struggle with analyzing texts. Whatever it is for you, try to be as specific as possible with what you are finding difficult. This will aid whoever you go to for help in actually helping you.

So then, who should you go to?

Your teacher

A lot of students are intimidated to go to their teacher for help on homework: they think it will somehow hurt their grade or make their teacher think that they are stupid. But in reality, your teacher is one of the best people to go to, because they understand exactly what is expected of you in the assignment, and they know what skills you already have that you can build off of. Just make sure that you don’t wait till the last minute possible to go to them.

Your parents

Believe it or not, your parents or other family members, probably remember more from school that you’d give them credit for. And, they know you better than most people and probably have a pretty good idea of how you think and how you learn. So chances are, they can help you on your assignments. Sometimes, all the help that students need is just to be able to talk through a problem with someone, and to be told that they are on the right track for solving it.

A friend

If you have a friend in your class who is doing well and understands the material, ask them to help you on your assignment. Chances are they’ll be willing to, but you can also buy them a pizza to sweeten the deal.

A tutor

If none of the other options work, and your parents are willing to do it, you may want to consider hiring a tutor to help with your assignments. Try to find someone local, who you can meet with in person. They don’t necessarily need to be an expert in the subject matter, as long as they are patient and good at explaining things, they can be a great help.

Study regularly.

Do not try and rush through your work in one day. Instead make a specific time as your “homework time” and make it the same time each day.
